UPDATE ON GUNTER!!!
Great News!! The lump on the top of Gunter's Head was a negative cyst instead of a tumor.
The vet was able to remove it without impairment of any of the nerves around Gunter's eye.
Gunter has been neutered and is heartworm negative!
The only thing Gunter needs now is a home with a fenced in yard and a loving family.

GUNTER’S STORY

Gunter is a gentle Weimaraner who was pushed out of a truck,

abandoned in a local neighborhood.

Polk County Animal Control rescued him and asked if the

SPCA could offer him another chance at life.

Gunter was very scared when he first came to the SPCA.

He is adjusting well and learning to trust our volunteers .

A local vet examined him and estimates that Gunter is 8 – 10 years old.

As you can see by his picture, Gunter has a large lump on the top of his head.

The vet has recommended that the lump be removed.

After looking into those big, brown, sad eyes, the SPCA decided that

Gunter should have his best chance at a long, healthy life.

He has already been abandoned by people once. We couldn’t disappoint him again.

Gunter has been scheduled for surgery to remove the lump.

We are looking forward to posting a new picture featuring his new and improved profile.

We are also praying that the lump is not a malignant tumor that will limit his lifespan.

Donations to help with Gunter’s medical expenses would be greatly appreciated.

You may drop off your donations in person
 or mail them to
P.O. Box 1403, Livingston, Tx. 77351.

The SPCA thanks all of the individuals, businesses, and community organizations
who have generously donated pet food, supplies, their personal time or talents,
and financial assistance to help us care for these animals.
Without your support, these wonderful pets would not have a chance
for a new "forever" home with a loving family.

Please drop by our office to visit with our volunteers and meet the wonderful
 animals at our office.
