WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT!

If you want to help us build a better facility to care for the precious pets
in Polk County that deserve a second chance at a
"forever Home", we need your support.

We have estimated that it will take approximately $90,000 to
complete the renovations and retire the mortgage on our facility.

If 300 people donate $300.00, we can reach this goal.

ASK US HOW YOU CAN JOIN THE 300 CLUB!!
If you can't afford a one-time donation of $300,
you also have the option of making a recurring monthly donation.

The concrete to replace the first section of unsafe wall
has been poured!!

A
s renovations continued, we determined that we must replace a portion of the outside wall of the lower level of the building. The heavy equipment arrived and dug a large trench to gain access to the wall. This is a major undertaking but necessary to make the building safe and secure. Once the wall is replaced, this building will be structurally sound for many years to come.

for the renovations at the new SPCA building.

Two of the overhead roll doors have been installed!!
Installation of the overhead roll doors has been generously donated by
Lake Livingston Overhead Door,  the only LOCAL
overhead door company in the area. The overhead doors themselves
were jointly donated by Clopay Building Products – Houston Distributors in partnership with David & Gaytha Brown, owners of Lake Livingston Overhead Door.

The SPCA is very grateful to these 3 wonderful volunteers who have worked long, hard hours to plan, coordinate, and implement
the building renovations.

Pictured from left to right are:
Carl Feren, Volunteer Project Coordinator, a local businessman who helped the SPCA obtain the property and has been involved in every phase of the renovations. Carl also works tirelessly to raise funds for the SPCA...
Building Fund so that this project can become a reality.

Andy Anderson, Volunteer Construction Manager. Andy has over 30 years of experience in the construction field. He has worked long hours supervising the construction crews to insure that all necessary renovations are completed in compliance with city codes and as cost efficiently as possible. Andy's knowledge and years of experience of working with contractors, suppliers, etc. have been invaluable.

Richard Venverloh, Volunteer Structural Engineer. Richard is a structural engineer who owned a multi-million company specializing in structural steel sales & installation which he sold a few years ago and has retired to Livingston. Richard designed the steel support beams to provide the firm foundation for the building. Richard has over 30 years of experience in the construction field. He has worked closely with Carl and Andy on all aspects of the renovations and freely shared all of his specialized knowledge/training to help design/build a safe, efficient facility.

Thanks to hard work and dedication of these 3 individuals to this project, the end result of the renovations will be better than we could have ever imagined when this process began.

WE DESPERATELY NEED DOG FOOD, CAT FOOD, AND KITTY LITTER.
ANY ASSISTANCE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Spo
t and his siblings were born at the SPCA on December 14, 2010.  His mother was a purebred Min Pin who had been surrendered by her former owner because she was pregnant.  Spot's mother had the sweetest disposition and was an absolutely awesome dog.  The former owner had no ideas about the breed of the father.  Obviously, Spot didn't get his mother's looks but does have her sweet disposition.  Spot is a happy, playful young dog who is waiting for a forever home.

Blithe along with her mother and her littermates were left outside the SPCA when we were closed.  Her mother had escaped from the box and the kittens were all too young to eat on their own.  Thankfully Mom came back and was able to finish nursing her babies. Blithe has grown into a beautiful young cat with a sweet personality and is still waiting for her own forever home.
